In Part 2 of this 2 Part Series on Authentic Communication, I cover Keys 3-7 of Dr. Susan Campbell's book - Getting Real, a must read for anyone who struggles with speaking the truth.

To quickly review, keys one and two are:

1) Simply state your feelings about what you are experiencing.  "I feel uncomfortable, I feel hooked by what just happened."

2) Let others know what you WANT.  " I want to feel understood by you."  "I want you to hold my hand."

The rest of the keys are about showing us how to really take responsibility for feelings and emotional triggers.  

Key #3 is to share Resentments and Appreciation.  You will learn an exercise you can do with anyone to create deeper connection and intimacy.

Key #4 is to Own Your Triggers.  Triggers are emotional trip wires that when crossed, we lose power and facility to interact in a calm and loving way.
