Jamison Green: Author and activist
Northern California-based author and activist Jamison Green is internationally recognized as a leader in the field of transgender policy, theory, and education. Most of the social and political advancements that the transgender community has made over the past 16 years have roots in his ground-breaking policy work and insightful writing. His award-winning book, Becoming a Visible Man (Vanderbilt University Press, 2004) is used as a text in numerous universities. He serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations, including the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, TransYouth Family Advocates, and the Transgender Law & Policy Institute; he’s an advisory board member of the National Center for Transgender Equality, the Institute for Intersex Children and the Law, and Out & Equal Workplace Advocates. He is also a consultant with the National Sexuality Resource Center at San Francisco State University and San Francisco’s Transgender Law Center. He has appeared in a dozen documentary films and given countless public speeches, lectures, and media interviews in North and South America, Europe, Australia, and the Far East.
