Guest – Michael Port

Called a "marketing guru" by the Wall Street Journal, Michael Port has lectured, trained, inspired, and provided coaching and consulting services to over 20,000 business owners in the last two years alone. As a speaker, he has headlined events with leaders like Tim Sanders, Carly Fiorina, and Tony Robbins.

Michael is the author of the national bestselling Book Yourself Solid and Beyond Booked Solid (April '08). Also forthcoming is The Contrarian Effect: Why It Pays To Take Typical Sales Advice and Do The Opposite (Sept. '08) followed by The Think Big Manifesto in late 2008.

Michael's company runs some of the largest and most respected online distance learning and coaching programs for small business owners. In fact, 93% of his group coaching clients who have implemented the Book Yourself Solid system have increased the number of clients they serve by over 34% and increased their sales by over 43% within the first year alone.

Before starting his consulting business, Michael spent years honing his management skills by working in senior management for some of the premiere health and fitness companies in the country, including The Sports Club Company and Clay, the most luxurious health club in New York, where he served as the Senior Vice President of Operations.

And if Michael looks familiar to you, that's because he was once a slightly famous actor starring in TV and film projects like Sex and the City, Third Watch, All My Children, Guiding Light, Central Park West, 100 Centre Street, The Pelican Brief, Down to Earth, Last Call, The Believer, and many more. He also provided hundreds of television and radio commercials for companies such as AT&T, Pizza Hut, Braun Shavers, MTV, Home and Garden Network, Coors Beer, and many more.

Michael has been a student of the martial art Aikido since 1996 and holds the rank of black belt. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Tulane University and a Masters degree from New York University.
