Jane Knowles Lindsey, President of the California Genealogical Society, has been researching her family history since 1982.   Since becoming president five years ago the society has grown and its circle of projects and activities has been enlarged.   Jane’s specialty is events planning and she has arranged Cruises to Alaska, Canada and the Caribbean. She also leads group research tours for CGS members to Salt Lake City, Boston and Fort Wayne Indiana.

A native of Massachusetts, Mrs. Lindsey received her BS degree in nursing from Boston University and practiced nursing until 1983. She moved to Lafayette in 1977 with her husband and two sons.  She has done extensive fundraising for Children’s Hospital Oakland where she chaired the Rubber Ducky Derby for three years.  Jane is a past Trustee and Council member for the New England Historic Genealogical Society.  

Jane travels to Salt Lake City at least twice a to do her own family research and research for private clients,
