Mark Tucker: ThinkGenealogy
About Mark Tucker, From Mark Tucker: "I have a confession to make. I love family history and genealogy! In fact, I would call them my passion. I got hooked on family history as a youth and I continue to love it. I started working with census records back when you needed to know soundex and how to use microfilm readers. Technology sure has made record access easier. My first genealogy program was the DOS version of PAF. I have also used PAF for Windows, Family Origins, Family Tree Maker, Ancestral Quest, and RootsMagic. I am a member of the National Genealogical Society. I am a Boy Scout merit badge counselor for the Genealogy merit badge.
Professionally I am a software architect with more than 13 years experience in software design and development. I currently work in Scottsdale, Arizona for a software company with about 1,300 employees worldwide and total annual revenue of over $270 million. For much of my career I have used Microsoft technologies and most recently I am using C# and the .NET Framework. But I don’t consider myself religious about Microsoft and I refuse to enter the battle over which compiler, company, or technology is supreme.
Much of my spare time (after family, work, and church responsibilities) is spent thinking about genealogy and genealogy software. This blog is my outlet for years of thinking about genealogy. One day I hope to more closely align my passion and my profession."
