Guest – Jim Meskauskas


Since 2006, Jim Meskauskas has been Vice President, Director of Online Media at ICON International, Omnicom’s corporate trade company.  He is responsible for day-to-day management of buy implementation and strategic plan oversight.

Prior to joining ICON, Jim was partner and Chief Strategic Officer at Underscore Marketing where he oversaw cross-platform and online media strategy for the agency. Jim was also co-founder and VP, Media Director of Pericles Consulting Group, developing strategy for the first use of online advertising for a presidential election, for Bush-Cheney 2004. He also oversaw four senate races for the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

With a background in both traditional and online advertising spanning 13 years, Jim has worked at Hawk Media, Left Field, Mediasmith Inc., and USWeb/CKS. His account assignments have included Nestle Beverage, Burger King, Electronic Arts, Eidos, Amazon.com,  Bank of America, Real Networks, ABC Networks, Hormel, Schering-Plough, and Fuji Film.

Jim has regularly written for both print and online magazines about the online advertising industry since 1998.

His likes are 80s punk rock, Mozart, collecting Star Wars merchandise, B-horror films, Xbox, and cooking South-East Asian cuisine.  His dislikes are wet sleeping bags, littering, electric stoves, mean people, War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death.
