Bill Maury has been the Supervisory Historian of the Census Bureau since February 2002. He received his Ph.D. in American History from The George Washington University. In addition to his work as a historian at the Census Bureau, Bill has taught history at George Washington and Catholic University, been Chief Historian at the U.S. Capitol Historical Society and published a monthly community historical newspaper.
